Kendra Giles

Reception, Teacher

Kendra is originally from Sterling, Virginia. She supplemented her year long training with summer intensives at Joffrey Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Gus Giordano, and Sanspointe Dance Company.
After high school, Kendra continued her dance education at the University of Alabama under the teachings of Cornelius Carter, Lawrence Jackson, Sarah M. Barry, and Rita Snyder. While at UA, Kendra was a member of the pre-professional company: Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre. She also danced, choreographed, and designed lighting for Dance Alabama!; a student run showcase held every semester. Kendra was a member of Yonder Contemporary Dance Company in 2018, which traveled throughout the Southeast, eventually taking its show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival – the largest performing arts festival in the world. Kendra graduated cum laude with honors in 2020, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a minor in Kinesiology Studies. Although the Covid-19 pandemic canceled some of her most exciting plans, a summer program in Italy with staibdance and an entertainment job in Walt Disney World, she instead found a love for teaching dance. Kendra is extremely excited to begin her professional dance career this year with Sanspointe Dance Company in addition to becoming a teaching artist at The Dance Foundation!
