Hope Friedman has a passion for creating movement. Ms. Friedman spent her high school years studying at the Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory and is a recent graduate of the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati where she earned a BFA in Ballet as well as a BA in Psychology. Her previous summer studies include programs with Boston Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Joffrey Ballet Chicago, Parsons Dance, and Sarasota Contemporary Dance. In the summer of 2018, Ms. Friedman was selected as an emerging choreographer with Sarasota Contemporary Dance, where she produced a full length work for the company’s annual In the Round production. Over the course of her college career, she has also produced three full length works for CCM’s annual Choreographers’ Showcase, along with having been featured in several smaller performances within CCM. In the Fall of 2018, Ms. Friedman became the first undergraduate student in the program to have her choreography produced in a main-stage production alongside faculty and guest choreographers’ works. After teaching for local studios in Cincinnati and her home town of Saratoga Springs, Ms. Friedman is thrilled to be calling Birmingham her new home and joining the faculty at the Dance Foundation.
