Cristina Bolton

Teaching Artist

Cristina is an Alabama native born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. She fell in love with dance at the young age of 2 and danced as a Company Dancer with The Dance Company, Inc. for 16 years. Under the direction of Beth Cannon and Julie George, she had opportunities to train with Nashville Ballet, American Ballet Theater, DanceMakers Inc, Hollywood Dance Jamz, Hollywood Vibe, and world-renowned choreographers Kathryn Mccormick, Brook Paulsen-Zelus, Kent Boyd, Liz Imperio, and many others. She performed annually in the Honors Ballet Company’s production of The Nutcracker. Knowing that she had to share the love she had for dance, she began teaching at her home studio, and was ignited by the spark of students’ ‘light bulb moments.’ As she graduated high school, she knew that dance had the power to change lives, and wanted everyone to have the opportunity to dance, so she became the Director of Camp Operations for Inspired Arts, a performing arts camp for underserved teens.
Dance allowed Cristina to explore other cultures and body mechanics through movement. This has led her to earn a degree in Spanish and Nutrition from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Cristina was intrigued by movement of all forms, which led her to gain certification to teach Aerial Yoga, to bring movement to all people. Teaching dance of various styles for the last 8 years has allowed Cristina to develop a fun and inclusive classroom for all students. Cristina is beyond ecstatic to share her passion and love with students at The Dance Foundation.
