In 1975, Jennie’s husband gave her $50 and said she could have the attic floor of their house on Henrietta Road. So Jennie took the $50 and made it go as far as it would go, and she began classes in the attic with just a few students. When she ran out of space for her students, they used the backyard (which didn’t work out so well during the winter months), and eventually opened a studio space.

From the very beginning, our founder, Jennie Robertson, knew that movement and music together could transform the lives of children. Fifty years ago, she set out to create something special, and thanks to her steadfast vision, live music has remained at the heart of our classes for young children.

Ms. Jennie was always profoundly grateful that this tradition endured. To the incredibly talented musicians who have graced our studios over the past five decades—and to those who continue to inspire and uplift our students—thank you! Your music brings magic to every class, just as Ms. Jennie dreamed. 💜
