SUMMER CAMPS June 1 – August 1, 2015

REGISTER NOW!  for our summer camps and weekly classes!  All camps are led by caring, enthusiastic professional staff and are held in our Community Arts Center in Downtown Homewood.  An early drop-off option is available for full-day camps.  All campers should bring a lunch each day.  Snacks will be provided twice daily.  Full-day camps will culminate with a brief sharing for family and friends.  Full-day campers receive a T-shirt.    If you would like to have a class schedule and registration form mailed to you, please sign up here.

What’s Inside the Costume Box?   
For 4 and 5 year olds (must turn 4 or 5 by June 1, 2015)
A trunk filled with costumes and creative artifacts reveals the day’s adventure!

Once Upon a Ballet – NEW!
Entering 1st & 2nd Graders
Discover familiar folktales of ballet!  Learn classical dance steps and gestures of famous characters, make costumes, explore the use of props and dance along with the traditional music of Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, Rodeo and Coppelia!

Imagination Lab – NEW!
Entering 1st-6th Graders
Join your fellow campers to create and direct an original live performance inspired by a favorite story.  Imaginative adaptations of the story are discovered through exploration of props, costume and set design, movement, music and acting!
Fee:  $225

Dance Explorations   
Entering 3rd-6th Graders
A well-rounded experience in dance – technique in a variety of styles, improvisation, choreography, rehearsal and performance.  Also get a taste of dance history, sewing, drumming and making a dance for the camera.   One year of recent dance experience is required.

Theatre Explorations  
Entering 6th-12th Graders
Study the art of live acting through voice, movement, theatrical improvisation and scene work.  No acting experience is required.

Theatre Production-Fantastic Mr. Fox!   – NEW!
Entering 6th-12th Graders
This unique 3-week intensive offers an opportunity to study in-depth theatrical techniques and perform in our 2015 StageDoor production Fantastic Mr. Fox!   Campers spend their 1st week learning voice, movement and theatrical improvisation alongside students in our Theatre Explorations Camp.  During the 2nd week, campers strengthen performance skills.  The camp culminates in Production Week, consisting of evening rehearsals and four ticketed public performances.  Participants must attend our casting audition.  Attendance for all three weeks is required.
Fee: $400
Casting Audition:  Saturday, April 18, 3-6pm
Theatre Production Camp (2 weeks):  July 6-17, Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm
Production Week:  July 20-26, Mon-Sun, schedule TBA

Dance for the Camera – NEW!
Entering 6th-12th Graders
Be immersed in the making of a dance for the camera, or in other words – a dance film.  Learn how to write a story board and perform in the movie that you help create.  Daily classes include ballet and modern dance, improvisation and choreography.   Two consecutive  recent years of dance experience (Ballet, Modern or Jazz) is required.
