Krista Bostany

Teaching Artist

Krista was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She began her formal dance training at the age of 5 in tap, jazz, and ballet and from that point on dance has been a central part of her life and her biggest passion. Krista attended John Carroll Catholic High School where she was a member of the nationally ranked Cavalette dance team. She then attended Auburn University where she was a member of the Auburn Tiger Paws dance team and the AU Rhythm hip hop dance troupe. Krista graduated from Auburn with a BA in K-12 Physical Education and immediately went to work spending several years teaching in schools in the Birmingham area while also teaching dance in the evenings. Realizing that dance was where her true love and expertise were, Krista eventually moved away from Physical Education and was able to make dance her full time career. Krista is happy to be able to take what she has learned about teaching in a school setting and apply it to her true passion of teaching dance! Besides teaching in a studio setting, Krista has also worked with several high school dance teams and theatre programs in the Birmingham area. Krista’s love for dance, creativity, hard work, and insatiable appetite for learning and trying new things is what she strives to pass along to her students every day. Krista joined The Dance Foundation in 2019 as a teaching artist and is very exited to be part of such a wonderful dance program. Aside from dancing, Krista enjoys spending time with her family, being an active member at her church, enjoying a delicious meal, and hanging out with her French bulldog, Boudreaux.
