The Dance Foundation continues to be a gathering place for learning through dance as it has for more than 40 years. We teach 2,000 students each week through our Studio Program and Community Partnership Program. In addition, our studios are home to dozens of artists and arts organizations who serve the community with classes, workshops, rehearsals, and performances.
Our teaching approach and curriculum engage the imagination and nurture creativity. Our students gain a strong technical foundation in dance as well as the confidence and self-discipline essential to learning the art of dance. Classes are taught by teaching artists who have received significant training, degrees, professional experience, and/or certifications. Live music is an essential component to classes for young children to develop the students’ musicality and to allow for spontaneity and creative freedom. Our state-of-the-art facility is located in downtown Homewood and includes five studios, each with two-way glass observation areas. “Satellite classes” are also offered at Levite Jewish Community Center, Advent Episcopal School, Homewood Day School, First Church Early Learning Center, and Our Lady of Sorrows for students enrolled at these schools. Visit our website for those class days and times.
